This Manual of Style outlines a standard of clean, consistent formatting for articles on this wiki. The formatting described here is a guideline and can be overridden where circumstances warrant it. These guidelines will never be unerringly perfect for every situation. However, please try your best to keep to the advice outlined in this article so others may use your edits as an example when creating and editing their own articles.
These guidelines are a summary of the most important guidelines for this wiki, but a more expansive set of style guidelines can be found on Wikipedia at Wikipedia Manual of Style.
Moves should use arrows (↗↑↖←↙↓↘→) for directional input. Use ↓↘→ instead of ↓→.
Moves should use letters (ABCD) for button input.
Do not put spaces in between inputs. Use ↓↘→+A instead of ↓ ↘ → + A.
Lack of a + indicates sequence (one after the other) while + indicates "press together". "AAA" means "press A three times".
Use a + between the final directional input of a move and the button of that move. Use ↓↘→+A instead of ↓↘→A. This is because the game engine seems to prefer buttons to be hit at the same time as the final direction, rather than right after.
Alternative suggestions for style:
- Numpad keys (98741236) for directional input. This way doesn't require Unicode, making it easier to edit, but the reader must learn more, rather than the editor.
- Images for all input. This can probably be done with a template and numpad inputs.
- Don't include diagonals (↓→ instead of ↓↘→).
- Button input: W/S/G/C (weak, strong, guard, cast)
- Spaces between input.
